Fairly easy to use but you do really need to read the manual (which isn't that big really ) AND mess around as it is a little lacking in information. It's menu driven so can be a little frustrating until you spend a little time with it.

It'll slow down a CD in real time to varying degrees down to 50%.

AMP sims and effects.

Hmmmm this is a difficult one to rate, when slowing down it is a little noisy and the sound isn't perfect but I expect that when resampling and keeping the pitch perfect. For that it does exaactly what I want it to do and I only wish these were available when I started playing.

The on board effects and amp simulations are really not up to much but, then again, thats not what I bought it for. I just plug in my PODxt and bypass that stuff.

For the fact I can resample solos at a lovely slow rate and make my life very easy I'll give it a 9 - for the on board effects and amp sims I can only offer a 5 - let's meet in the middle with a 7.

I'm sure the quality of these will get better but what it produces is certainly quite useable.

Reliability & Durability: [8]
Construction is OK for home use (pretty much where most will use it anyway) - but it is plastic. I wouldn't want to drop it! Saying that I've had mine for well over a year, have had no problems with it and it still looks new.

The battery life is shocking - you need to use a power supply because the GT1 will drain a set of batteries in no time. However, as it likely to be used in a home/studio setting it isn't a problem BUT that is another price factor to consider.

Like I mentioned, I only wish they had these when I started out - it is a fantastic tool. I know there are computer program versions out but for me, I like the luxury of not having to sit by my PC to use the thing.

The fact that it takes CDs and slows down in real time is just magic for me. I didn't buy it for the effects but they aren't that good IMO.
