The Ampeg BA500 is a solid state bass combo pushing out 350 watts into two 10" speakers. There is also a horn for the highs.

It's got a three band parametric EQ and nine band graphic EQ.

Also useful is the pop-in casters to help move it around.

Sounds good with both my Precision and my Jazz bass.

I find with the EQ you can get a really big tonal range on this amp so it'll suit many styles of playing.

Even driving the amp really hard I find that it doesn't distort.

It can tilt back so you can really hear yourself much better - a nice feature.

Reliability & Durability: [9]
It has a well made, solid construction with metal corner protectors.

I've only had it for a while but it does seem to look like it will last. I know 2 other people who have this Ampeg and they have had no problems. I bought it really because I'd used theirs.

Overall Rating: [9]
A great bass amp for the money. It is my first bigger amp and I am very happy. It's got the power that I was struggling to achieve before. Now I can really be heard - a problem before in rehearsals.

It is a good bass combo although maybe in a few years time I will go with a separate amp and cab - who knows.
